About Us |
Under
Massachusetts General Law (MGL), Chapter 131,
section 40, the Conservation Commission has
jurisdiction over the wetlands and their 100
foot buffer zone. Since the inception of the
Rivers Protection Act, this buffer zone
jurisdiction is increased to 200 feet in the
case of a river or running stream. Any work
being proposed in these buffer zones requires
filing with the Conservation Commission and a
public hearing. In addition, the Ludlow
Conservation Commission Bylaws require a minimum
25 foot "No Disturb Zone". For more information,
or to request a copy of our Bylaws, contact the
Conservation Commission Office at (413) 583-5621
